The 7.3cm Hektor was Leitz's fast portrait lens for the screw-mount Leica, made from 1931 to 1942 with about 7,225 produced across all finishes. Six elements in three groups and a twelve-blade diaphragm give the soft-shouldered rendering and gentle transitions the lens is sought for, wide open in particular. It takes A42 filters, focuses to 1.5m and weighs 460g. This is the all-black paint version rather than the later nickel-band or chrome-band variants, and it is the least often seen of the three.
