Product Description

Angenieux's Type S1 was the standard lens of the French maker's still range, produced from the early 1940s to the late 1950s as a six element Gauss design in four groups. It was supplied for Alpa, Rectaflex and Exakta as well as in Leica screw and Contax fittings, and the rangefinder mounts were made in much the smallest numbers. Beside the faster S21 it draws evenly and without theatrics, holding distortion low and giving a gentle, unforced tonality.
