The APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 ASPH arrived in 1997 as the apochromatic replacement for the Mandler Summicron: five elements in five groups with an aspherical surface, E55 filters and one metre close focus, in production to 2014 for a little over 14,800 lenses. Order code 11885 is the silver chrome finish, and Leica's batch records list only two runs of it, 600 lenses in 2002 and a further 300 in 2003. Chrome plating over brass makes it appreciably heavier than the black version.
