The Leicameter MC, introduced in 1957, is the accessory-shoe exposure meter of the M2 and M3 years. Its selenium cell needs no battery, and the reading is taken off the meter's own scale and set by hand on the camera; coupling to the shutter speed dial and a CdS cell only arrived with the MR generation from 1966. Chrome is the finish usually seen, and the black paint MC is the version wanted for black paint bodies of the same period.
