The Leica Summicron-M 90mm f/2 (factory code 11136) is a pre-ASPH telephoto lens produced 1980–1998. Its optical design is a modified Double Gauss type arranged as 5 elements in 5 groups, derived from the 1950s Type 2 Summicron formula but optimized for the M bayonet. This configuration delivers high central sharpness with controlled field curvature and minimal vignetting at f/2. A relatively scarce variant in black paint finish, it remains one of the last non-aspherical 90mm Summicrons before the 1998 ASPH redesign.
