Product Description

The 28mm f/3.5 Type R11 is the lens that made Angenieux's Retrofocus trade name generic. Patented in 1950 and reaching 28mm in 1952, the inverted telephoto layout pushed the rear nodal point back so that a true wide angle would clear a reflex mirror, and the negative front group also evened out corner illumination. Six elements in six groups, made in France. It was supplied in Exakta, M42 and Alpa reflex fittings and in a much scarcer rangefinder coupled Leica screw version.
