Order code 11883 is the silver chrome 35mm Summilux-M ASPH, the chrome-plated brass version of the lens Leica built from 1994 to 2010. Walter Watz's nine element, five group design carries one aspherical surface, focuses to 0.7m and takes E46 filters. Chrome came in occasional batches of about 1,000 lenses rather than continuous production, against more than 18,400 ASPH lenses in all finishes, and the brass barrel raises the weight to roughly 415g against 250g for the black anodised aluminium version.
