Dallmeyer of London built fast f/1.9 objectives for the British television industry, and this 3 inch, marked TV, is one of them rather than a still photography lens. Used on a modern body through an adapter it draws the way the firm's other f/1.9 designs do: a narrow, sharply defined plane of focus at full aperture, with backgrounds breaking into swirl and highlights strongly modelled. Dallmeyer's post-war output was made in small numbers, and complete examples surface only occasionally.
