Product Description

The Kino-Plasmat came from Dr Paul Rudolph, who joined Hugo Meyer of Goerlitz in 1918 after giving Zeiss the Protar and the Tessar, and who drew this Plasmat derivative through the 1920s; at f/1.5 it was the fastest lens in the world when it appeared. It was built as a cine objective, and 35mm is one of the shorter lengths in the series. Rehoused here in Leica M mount, it is an aftermarket conversion of an original Meyer optic rather than a factory product.
