The Leica M3 Double Stroke (factory code 10150) is the original 1954 rangefinder model equipped with the first production 0.72× viewfinder. It features a die-cast zinc top plate finished in silver chrome, separate bright-line frames for 50 mm, 90 mm and 135 mm lenses, and the distinctive double-stroke film-advance lever. Mechanically it introduced the three-point bayonet mount, automatic frame counter, and film-type reminder dial. No lens is fitted; the body accepts all Leica M-mount optics including classic Double Gauss, Summicron, Summarit, Elmar, and Sonnar designs.
