Order number 11897 is the silver chrome Elmarit-M 21mm f/2.8 ASPH, made alongside the black 11135 from 1997 to 2010. The optics are the same nine elements in seven groups with an aspherical surface and an E55 filter thread, but the barrel is chrome-plated brass rather than anodised aluminium, which takes the weight from about 300g to 415g and gives the lens a noticeably denser feel on the camera. Black dominated the later production years, so chrome examples are the less commonly seen finish.
