Hugo Meyer of Goerlitz built the Makro-Plasmat to Dr Paul Rudolph's design. Rudolph had given Zeiss the Protar and the Tessar before joining Meyer in 1918, and spent the 1920s deriving fast lenses from the symmetrical Plasmat, the f/1.5 Kino-Plasmat among them. The Makro-Plasmat is the close-range member of that family, and 10.5cm at f/2.7 was very fast for the period. It is offered in Hasselblad V bayonet, an aftermarket rehousing rather than any factory fitting; Meyer optics of this age surface rarely.
