SOM Berthiot - Societe d'Optique et de Mecanique, of Paris - supplied the French cine trade from the 1900s until the 1964 merger that formed SOPELEM, and the Cinor line was its staple: fast primes in C mount for 16mm cameras such as the Bolex. The 50mm f/2 is the long standard of that family. It is offered here rehoused in a Leica M focusing mount, an aftermarket conversion rather than factory work, so it can be used on M bodies.
