Leica's 24mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M ASPH was made from 1996 to 2010 under 7,501 serial numbers, and it remains the compact wide-angle answer for M photographers who want more than 28mm without going all the way to 21mm. Aspherical construction holds distortion low and illumination even across an 84 degree diagonal field. It focuses to 0.7m and takes E55 filters. This is the black anodised aluminium version, order number 11878, about 290g, carrying 6-bit coding for automatic recognition on digital M bodies.
