The Leica Elmarit-R 135mm f/2.8 3-CAM is a telephoto lens for Leica R-series SLR cameras featuring a 5-element in 4-group optical construction derived from the classic Elmar formula. Introduced in 1969 and produced until 1990, the 3-CAM version incorporates the three mechanical cam lugs required for full compatibility with Leicaflex SL, SL2, and R-series bodies. Its relatively compact design for a 135mm f/2.8, combined with Leica’s strict quality control, makes well-preserved examples increasingly scarce.
