The Leica II of 1932 was the first Leica with a coupled rangefinder built into the body, read through a second window beside the viewfinder, and it fixed the layout the screw mount cameras kept to the end. Oskar Barnack's design ran from 1932 to 1948 and 52,509 were built, 36,936 of them in black lacquer over nickel plated brass and 15,573 in chrome. Shutter speeds run from 1/20 to 1/500. The lacquer sits over brass, so wear shows yellow metal.
