The IIIg was the last screw-mount Leica, built mainly between 1957 and 1960 to a total of roughly 41,580 bodies against some 184,000 IIIf. Its advance over the IIIf is the finder: a much larger, brighter window with projected framelines for 50mm and 90mm that move to correct parallax as the lens is focused. The shutter speed sequence follows the M3, the film reminder dial moves to the back, and the self-timer is standard. Leitz catalogued the chrome body as GOOEF.
