The Leica M2 Button Silver Chrome, produced 1958-1966, represents a pivotal evolution in the M-system with its simplified shutter speed dial and integrated self-timer. This rare variant features the distinctive “Button” advance lever without the later plastic tip, housed in a silver chrome body with vulcanite covering. Its 0.72x viewfinder incorporates 35/50/90mm frame lines, paired with a mechanical cloth focal-plane shutter offering speeds from 1 to 1/1000s plus B. In A- cosmetic condition, this example retains crisp engraving and bright chrome finish, a scarce factory configuration sought by collectors for its direct lineage to the original M3.
