The Leica M4-2 (factory code 10410) is a rare silver chrome rangefinder produced 1977–1978 in limited numbers as the first M4 variant with a built-in motor-drive coupling. It retains the classic M4 mechanical shutter (1–1/1000 s plus B) and 0.72× viewfinder with 35/50/90/135 mm frame lines while adding a simplified film-advance mechanism. Body houses the standard Leica M bayonet mount compatible with all M-mount optics including the 6-element/4-group Elmar, 7-element/5-group Summicron, and 8-element/5-group Summilux designs.
