Nippon Kogaku's 5cm f/2 is a six element, three group Sonnar derivative, a design Saburo Murakami began before the war and refined until 1948, when optical glass supply recovered. The H marks the six elements and the C the coating. This is the Leica screw mount version, built alongside the Nikon S bayonet lenses for photographers working with Barnack and adapted M bodies, and it takes 40.5mm filters. It draws with rounded Sonnar character rather than the flatter field of a Leitz double Gauss.
