The M4-P ran from 1980 to 1987, built largely at Leitz Midland in Canada, and was the first M to add 28mm and 75mm brightlines, giving six frameline pairs in the 0.72x finder. Leica Wiki records 24,970 cameras, the overwhelming majority of them black chrome. The body here wears an aftermarket black paint refinish applied outside the factory, as Leica never catalogued a black paint M4-P; underneath it is a standard M4-P on brass top and base plates.
