The 35mm f/2.8 Summaron replaced the slower f/3.5 in 1958 and stayed in the Leitz catalogue until 1974, six elements in four groups in a bayonet mount taking E39 or A42 filters. This is the plain version without spectacles, SIMOM, number 11306, made for the M2 and later cameras that carry their own 35mm frameline; it focuses to 0.7m and weighs around 210g. Roughly 30,400 bayonet Summarons were built, alongside 5,289 in screw thread.
