The Ektar 47mm f/2 was Kodak's own fast normal for the Retina II, offered on the type 011 built in Germany between 1946 and 1949 alongside the Schneider Xenon and Rodenstock Heligon alternatives. It is the quickest lens Kodak put on a Retina and the only one of the three carrying Kodak's own name. In Leica screw mount it becomes a rangefinder normal with slightly wider framing than 50mm; screw-mount examples are conversions rather than a mount Kodak catalogued.
