The MP appeared in 2003 as Leica's hand built mechanical M, offered with a choice of three finder magnifications. The 0.58x is the lowest of them, showing the widest view and the easiest of the three to use with spectacles or wide-angle lenses. In black paint over brass plates it is the less usual pairing, since lacquer was initially catalogued only with the 0.72x finder. Everything else is standard MP: M3 style advance and rewind knob, mechanical 1s to 1/1000 shutter, selective metering.
