The 3.5cm f/3.5 Summaron was the mainstream wide-angle for screw-mount Leicas, built from 1946 to 1960 with six elements in four groups, a ten-blade diaphragm, a 64 degree diagonal field and an A36 filter mount. Leitz assigned 122,021 serial numbers to the type, making it the most widely produced of the classic Leitz 35mm lenses. It focuses to one metre, weighs about 195g and draws with the even, moderate-contrast tonality that suits black and white work.
