The SOOPD is Leitz's collapsible shade for the 5cm f/2 Summitar, catalogued from 1940 to 1955 and folding flat over the front of the lens so that it doubles as a cap. It was made in clip-on and clamp-on set-screw forms. This is the chrome-finished version engraved Ernst Leitz New York, sold through the American house rather than Wetzlar; as with the FISON, chrome was the finish offered for the New York market, and it turns up far less often than the black crinkle type.
