This is the shade made for Canon's 50mm f/0.95, the fastest lens Canon built for a rangefinder camera. That lens has a 72mm front and a well-known tendency to flare when a light source sits anywhere near the front element, so the hood is a working part of the outfit rather than a decoration. Being large and easily separated from the lens, it is the piece most often missing today, and correct examples surface far less often than the lens itself.
