Walter Mandler's APO-Telyt-R 180mm f/3.4 was made by Leitz Canada from 1975 to 1998, 17,051 lenses in all, and remains the reference apochromatic telephoto of the R system. Seven elements in four groups cover a 14 degree field, with 2.5m minimum focus and 750g in the hand. The 3-cam version carries the cams for the Leicaflex SL and SL2 as well as the later R bodies, so one lens serves the whole reflex line from 1968 onwards.
