The last 50mm f/1 Noctilux-M lenses were built between 2006 and 2008 with six-bit coding milled into the bayonet flange, so digital M bodies identify the lens and apply its corrections automatically. Mechanically it is the fourth version: seven elements in six groups without aspherical surfaces, a built-in telescoping hood, E60 filters, 1m close focus and about 630g. Roughly 500 coded lenses closed a run of 17,535 f/1 Noctiluxes begun in 1976, after which the f/0.95 ASPH took over.
