Kinoptik of Paris introduced the Apochromat line in 1939 in focal lengths from 25 to 100mm, a double-Gauss design made entirely in-house and still catalogued into the 1990s. The 75mm f/2 was supplied in Cameflex and Eclair CM3 cine mounts and was widely used through the French New Wave. Apochromatic correction across the primary colours gives it high contrast and saturated colour wide open. This example has been converted from its original cine mount to Leica M for use on M bodies.
