Leica built this LHSA Special Edition of the APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH in 2017 for the fiftieth anniversary of the International Leica Society. The run was 500 lenses in all, of which only 200 carry this silver chrome finish against 300 in black paint. Optically it is the standard lens, eight elements in five groups with an aspherical surface and a floating element, E39 thread and 0.7m close focus. The scalloped focusing ring, red distance scale and solid brass push-on cap and round hood follow 1950s Leitz practice.
