The Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 Rigid (factory code 11818), introduced in 1966, is a rare silver-chrome variant of the final rigid-mount Summicron-M. Its optical design is a classic 6-element 5-group Double Gauss type derived from the 1956 M3 Summicron, featuring high-index lanthanum glass for exceptional correction of spherical and chromatic aberrations. This short-lived configuration was produced only until 1968, making it one of the scarcest 50mm Summicrons.
