Leitz built the APO-Telyt-R 280mm f/4 from 1993 to 2009, in the region of 2,000 lenses. Seven elements in six groups with apochromatic correction, an internal Series 5.5 filter drawer with an E77 thread available at the front, 1.7m minimum focus and about 1.9kg in the hand. It was the R system's carryable long lens, short and light enough to work hand-held where the faster telephotos demanded a tripod. This is the ROM version, order number 11360, which feeds lens data to R8 and R9 bodies.
