Leitz's 5cm f/2.8 Elmar was the faster, later reworking of the collapsible four element, three group Elmar, using lanthanum glass in the front and rear elements and an unusually smooth 15 blade diaphragm. ELMOM denotes the M bayonet version; screw-mount lenses ran from 1957 to 1962 and bayonet lenses from 1958 to 1966, around 74,000 in all. Filters are E39 screw-in or A42 slip-on, focus goes to 1 m, and the barrel collapses into the body.
