The second type of the rigid Summicron is told apart by its focusing ring: a flatter, wider scallop carrying both metre and feet scales, where the first type has a narrow scallop and a single scale. The optics are unchanged, a seven-element design with a ten-blade diaphragm, E39 filter thread and one-metre minimum focus, though the later coatings are usually credited with slightly higher contrast. Leitz catalogued the chrome lens as SOSIC, later 11818, and built it until 1968.
