Leitz built the Summarit 5cm f/1.5 from 1949 to 1960, fewer than 74,643 in all, catalogued SOOIA in screw mount and SOOIA-M in bayonet. Seven elements in five groups made it the fastest lens Leitz offered through the 1950s. Wide open it trades resolution for atmosphere: low contrast, glowing highlights and backgrounds that dissolve rather than resolve, then real bite from f/4. It focuses to 3.5 feet, takes A43 clamp-on or E41 screw filters, and its matching hood is the XOONS.
