A clip-on spirit level for the accessory shoe, used to hold horizons and architectural lines true in the decades before any camera carried a levelling aid of its own. Leitz introduced the FIBLA in 1929 and followed it in 1936 with the DOOLU, which carries a larger glass than the earlier pattern. Both were catalogued in chrome and in black paint, the black finish suiting black screw-mount outfits. Small accessories are easily mislaid, and period-correct examples turn up far less often than the cameras.
