The screw-mount Summaron 35mm f/2.8, order code SIMOO, was made only between 1958 and 1963 and to 5,289 units, against roughly 30,400 in M bayonet. Optically it is the same six elements in four groups as the M lenses, in a chrome barrel taking E39 or A42 filters and focusing to one metre. It fits every screw-thread Leica and adapts readily to M bodies. Screw examples are much the scarcer half of Summaron f/2.8 production.
