The 7.3cm f/1.9 Hektor was the fastest lens Leitz sold in the early 1930s, six elements in three groups behind a twelve-blade diaphragm, focusing to 1.5m, taking A42 filters and the FGHOO hood. Around 7,225 were made between 1931 and 1942. This is the all-black barrel, the first configuration, before the narrow and then wide chrome-band versions that account for most survivors; the black lenses are the earliest and the least often seen. Wide open it renders softly and luminously, tightening from f/4.
