The 2.8cm Hektor was the first true wide angle for the Leica screw mount, catalogued from 1935 to 1955 with roughly 11,255 made. Five elements in three groups on a triplet base give a 75 degree diagonal field, low distortion and a lens that weighs only 110g and focuses to 1m. It takes A36 slip-on or 34mm screw-in filters, with the SOOHN hood and SUOOQ finder as period accessories. The chrome-plated brass version was catalogued as HOOPYCHROM, the nickel finish as HOOPY.
