The Leica M3 Single Stroke (factory code 783627) is a 1958–1960 chrome rangefinder produced during the transition to the single-stroke film advance mechanism. It features the improved 0.72× viewfinder with 50 mm, 90 mm, and 135 mm bright-line frames. The camera is fitted with the classic 50 mm f/2 Summicron-M (type II, 1958–1968), a 6-element 5-group Double Gauss design derived from the pre-war Summar lineage, noted for its exceptional central sharpness and smooth bokeh. Serial number placement and single-stroke lever confirm first-series single-stroke production.
