The Mountain Elmar, factory code ELZEN, is Leitz's 10.5cm f/6.3 for screw-mount Leicas, made from 1932 to 1937 in 3,975 examples all told. Four elements in three groups in a slim, light barrel; the modest aperture was the whole idea, since the lens was sold for landscape and alpine work where it would be carried all day and stopped down anyway. This is the early black paint and nickel finish, made before Leitz moved the series over to black and chrome.
