The 50mm f/0.95 Noctilux-M is Peter Karbe's design: eight elements in five groups with aspherical surfaces, E60 filter, one-metre minimum focus and around 700 grams on the body. It replaced the f/1 Noctilux in 2008 and remains in production. Silver chrome, order number 11667, was added to the range in 2014 alongside the black 11602 and is much the less often seen of the two. Wide open it holds the plane of focus while everything behind it dissolves.
