The Hologon 15mm f/8 for Leica M was built by Carl Zeiss in Oberkochen to Erhard Glatzel's symmetrical three-element, three-group design and sold by Leitz as order number 11003 from 1972 to 1976. About 500 were made, with sources ranging from roughly 225 to 1,000. The aperture is fixed at f/8 behind a hemispherical front element covering 110 degrees with essentially no rectilinear distortion, focusing to 0.2m. A graduated centre filter evens the illumination and a dedicated finder carries a spirit level.
