This is the original Summaron, the 2.8cm f/5.6 Leitz produced from 1955 to 1963 to a total of 9,169 lenses, catalogued SNOOX and 11501. Six elements in four groups give a 76 degree field, focusing to one metre, in a chrome-plated brass mount weighing around 150 grams. It was made for screw-mount Leicas and fits M bodies through an adapter ring, with an accessory finder needed to frame 28mm. Original examples are considerably scarcer than the 2016 reissue.
