In 1999 Leica made a final run of 50mm Summicrons in Leica screw mount, order number 11619, for the Japanese market. Only 750 were built, in chrome, carrying the modern six-element optic, an E39 filter thread and 0.7m minimum focus in a plain barrel without the built-in hood. It is the only screw-mount Summicron of recent production, and puts a current lens on screw-thread bodies from the IIIf onwards. Complete examples come up rarely.
