The If is Leitz's finder-less screw-mount body, a IIf without rangefinder or viewfinder, carrying two accessory shoes on the top plate so that a separate finder, a Visoflex housing or a microscope adapter can be mounted directly. Production ran from 1952 into the late 1950s and totalled 16,904 cameras; only 1,118 were black-dial examples, all built in 1952, the remaining 15,786 carrying the red dial. Leitz catalogued the body as OEFGO, order number 10000.
