The first 35mm Summicron in silver chrome is the eight-element design Leitz introduced in 1958 and built until 1969: 21,492 bayonet lenses and 577 in screw mount. It works from f/2 to f/16 through a sixteen-blade diaphragm, takes E39 filters and focuses to 0.7m, the chrome-plated brass barrel carrying weight the later alloy versions shed. Order code SAMWO 11108 belongs to the version fitted with goggles for the M3, while the plain bayonet lens for the M2 is SAWOM 11308.
