The Dual Range Summicron, catalogued SOMNI and 11918 and built from 1956 to 1968, is the rigid lens with a second, near focusing range reached by drawing the mount past its normal stop. With the clip-on goggles fitted, focus runs from 0.88m down to 0.478m with the rangefinder still coupled. Optically it matches the rigid: seven elements, ten-blade diaphragm and an E39 filter thread. The near-focus goggles fit M3 through M6 but will not mount on M6 TTL or later bodies.
