The rigid Summicron arrived in 1956, replacing the collapsible barrel with a fixed one and running until 1967 beside the Dual Range. In silver chrome it is order number 11818, and it is the heavier of the two finishes at about 285 grams in bayonet mount. It focuses to one metre and takes E39 filters. Leica Wiki puts the first-generation Summicron family, collapsible, rigid and DR combined, at 253,314 lenses. Chrome rigids remain the classic 1950s and 1960s M standard lens.
